| Abstract | In recent years, the South African social services sector has not been able to absorb social work graduates seeking employment. In 2023 it was estimated that 9000 social work graduates were unemployed. The number has increased following the April 2024 graduation season, with a new cohort of graduates having entered the job market. Against this backdrop, it cannot be business as usual for the teaching institutions (universities). There is a need to augment the current social work undergraduate curriculum to introduce material preparing students for the volatile job market. Consequently, this paper quizzes the feasibility of incorporating entrepreneurship in social work curriculum in South Africa. A qualitative approach was followed within the multiple descriptive case study design and data was collected by means of systematic literature review, which was subsequently analysed thematically. Ethical issues were also considered in the study. The study thus makes various recommendations of how entrepreneurship can be incorporated in the social work curriculum. |
