Dr Nontembeko Bila - ASASWEI Secretary
Dr. Bila is a South African Social Work Academic and researcher based at the University of Pretoria. In 2010 she joined the Department of Social Work and Criminology (UP) and obtained her Ph.D. in 2018. As a dedicated faculty member, her research focuses on mental health and disability issues, teaching these topics at under- and postgraduate levels. Nontembeko is the department's postgraduate chair and actively contributes to academic and research growth in her capacity as a Faculty Postgraduate Committee member. She is a task team member of the Social Work in Health Care for the South African Council of Social Service Professions. She is the current secretary of the Association of South African Social Work Education Institutions (ASASWEI).

In support of the ASASWEI strategic vision to promote social work education, training research, and practice within an international context, her vision is as follows:
To facilitate effective communication amongst the committee members and the association constituents.
Ensure smooth running of the association by responding timeously to the correspondences from various organizations and constituents. Organize meetings, draft meeting agendas and collate minutes for the association thereof.
