Biosketch Mirriam Siluma is a Child and Youth Care lecturer at the Durban University of Technology. She is pursuing her PHD in the Department of Social Work and Community Development at the University of Johannesburg. Mirriam Siluma has 27 years’ experience in the field of Child and Youth Care. Her career in Child and Youth Care started with direct work with young people, followed by supervision, management, teaching and curriculum development. In Addition, Mirriam served as the representative of education institutions in the second Professional Board for Child and Youth Care. She also contributed to the Standards Generating Body which determines the knowledge and skills for the Child and Youth Care curriculum.
