Abstract | The South African government implemented the eight batho pele principles to improve service delivery to its citizens. The Department of Social Development,Ingwavuma Service Office;extended its locum by opening three service centers in response to the ACCESS principle. This development meant a team of social workers had to be stationed in these centers to be within their client's reach.Center social workers were interviewed following their outcry for improved working conditions and support.Although Centers are functional, traditional leaders and the community challenge their existence as they feel they don't add value to the community. There's a need to redress the community and support social workers as they are working with adversity under adverse conditions. |
